Italian towns dispute waste collection contracts and new landfill approvals

In Alghero, councilor Marco Colledanchise praised recent improvements in the municipal waste‑collection system, highlighting the dedication of ecological operators and urging citizens to properly close bins and separate materials such as wood and tires. He stressed the need for continued collaboration to maintain service quality.

In Civita Castellana, local politicians Claudio Parroccini, Simonetta Coletta and Giuseppe La Bella reported that the municipality issued the first urban‑planning and noise‑impact permits for a new waste‑storage facility at San Silvestro. They warned that the approvals could signal a shift in local policy and called for transparency and firm opposition to the project.
