Italian towns face funding shortfalls for night‑shop openings and centre‑business grants
In Civitanova, commerce assessor Roberto Pantella said the municipality could not provide the €25,000 requested to promote evening shop openings from July 1 to August 22. He offered to allocate €15,000 for promotion and suggested the town handle communication itself, but the proposal was rejected, leaving the night‑shop initiative stalled.
Meanwhile, the mayor of an unnamed Italian city, Gionata Calcinari, announced a grant program for new businesses in the historic centre and on Viale Roma. Eligible applicants can receive up to €7,500 to open a pizzeria with table service or a gelateria/pasticceria/chocolateria, with applications open until 31 December 2026. The initiative aims to revitalise the urban fabric and attract both residents and tourists.
