Italian towns host free art exhibitions promoting community culture

In Misilmeri, the AgorArt Expo runs free at the Bar Agorà until 16 August. Curated by journalist Antonella Folgheretti and organized by Daniela Furnari, the show includes paintings by Francesco Perugia and events such as a women's‑violence discussion and a book talk. It is dedicated to Giovanni Furnari, a local theatre actor and director who died earlier this year.

In Casumaro, the Biblioteca Ileana Ardizzoni presents the exhibition “Dalla Somalia a Casumaro… Brigadiere, la smetta di sognare!” showcasing the works of former Carabinieri artist Giovannino Stanzani. The show opens on 2 August and runs through 16 August, with proceeds supporting AMREF Health Africa. The exhibition highlights Stanzani’s memories of his service in Somalia and his lifelong dedication to painting.

Both events are free to the public and aim to make art and culture accessible to all residents of the respective towns.
