Italian towns host free street and circus performances on Aug 7
In the historic centre of Mesagne, a travelling percussion street band from Tuscany will perform on Friday, 7 August, from 19:30 to 21:30. The group will play batucada‑style rhythms blended with funk, rock, afro, pop and D&B, moving through the town’s squares in a series of choreographed numbers.
Meanwhile, Urbania’s Festival Piazze returns on the same day with “Sonata per tubi”, a contemporary circus show by the troupe Nando&Maila. The performance transforms circus equipment into musical instruments, featuring three‑voice polyphonic singing, dance and a final ritual that marks the passage from adolescence to adulthood. It will be staged in the Piazza del Mercato behind the Palazzo Ducale. Free tickets are available for members of the local BCC Metauro, with reduced‑price tickets for other visitors.
