Italian towns host international youth exchanges promoting peace and dialogue

In Pompei, the Leo Club Pompei organised a day‑long visit for twenty young participants from countries including Finland, France, Germany, India, Mexico, the United States, Canada and Austria. The group explored the Sanctuary of Pompei and the Archaeological Excavations, guided by members of the Leo Club and its president Angelo Passeggia, as part of the Campo Vesuvio Internazionale programme that aims to foster intercultural dialogue and friendship.

In Milazzo, the local AGESCI Milazzo 2 scout group welcomed a delegation of Ukrainian scouts for a friendship‑building exchange. The visit, coordinated by scout leader Nunzio Zagara and welcomed by Mayor Pippo Midili, featured joint scouting activities, tours of the historic castle and the nearby marine protected area, and discussions on peace and solidarity. Both events underscore Italy’s role in providing safe, educational settings for young people from around the world to connect and share cultural experiences amid ongoing global challenges.
