Italian towns host summer food festivals

San Fele in Basilicata will hold the fourth edition of “A Candaratë – Sagra del Maiale” on Saturday, 8 August. The event showcases pork‑based dishes, local crafts and live music by Niky Fox, with proceeds supporting a new mural project for the town’s historic centre.

The province of Arezzo has published its 2026 calendar of summer sagre, featuring a series of food‑ and tradition‑focused celebrations: the Festa del Perdono in Cavriglia (30 July – 4 August), the Sagra della Tagliata in Levane (23 – 28 July), the Festa del Paese e del Tortello di Patate in Cetica (25 – 26 July), the 11th edition of the Sagra dei Pici in Monte San Savino (30 July – 9 August), the Festa dello Sport in Pietraia (9 – 19 July), the 47th Sagra della Ranocchia in Brolio (23 – 31 July and 1 – 2 August), the 23rd Sagra dello Struzzo in Manciano (10 – 12 July and 16 – 19 July), and the 16th Sagra della Tagliata in Lucignano (four weekend periods in July). These festivals aim to promote local gastronomy, crafts and cultural heritage.
