Italian towns launch 2026 jazz festivals in Altofonte and Matera

Altofonte, a town near Palermo, will host the ninth edition of ParcoJazz 2026 on July 31 and August 1. The free two‑night event features local jazz ensembles such as the 4Brothers from OJS and the Three Space Project trio, a hobbyist market and performances that blend traditional jazz standards with contemporary styles.

Matera will hold the Matera Jazz Guitar Days on September 19‑20, offering free concerts, workshops, and conferences in the historic Sassi caves. The festival also presents the Angelo Carriero Prize for emerging jazz guitarists, awarding the winner a full‑scholarship to the Berklee Clinics at Umbria Jazz (2027) and covering accommodation costs. The event is supported by regional authorities and cultural organisations.
