Italian towns launch road resurfacing projects in Bitonto and Martina Franca

The municipality of Bitonto has begun work on the San Martino rural road, including milling, drainage improvements and new asphalt surfacing. The project, financed with €400,000 from local funds and an additional €100,000 from cost savings, also covers Monteverde and three sections of Via Fiego, roads that have not been significantly maintained for over 30 years.

In Martina Franca, the local council has started an extraordinary maintenance programme on a stretch that includes Via Trento, Via Votano and connecting intersections. The €150,000 works will repair deteriorated asphalt, widen sidewalks, install new traffic islands and update signage to improve safety for pedestrians and vehicles. Both initiatives are part of broader municipal efforts to upgrade rural and urban road networks and enhance local traffic safety.
