Italian towns launch summer inclusion programs for children with disabilities

In Calvi, the cooperative FABER began the "Coltiviamo Talenti" summer track of the Amico Fragile 2.0 project on 8 June. Funded by the EU's NextGeneration EU and the PNRR, the programme serves about 150 children aged five to ten from the Benevento province, many with psycho‑physical disabilities. Activities include horticulture, music therapy on grass, pet therapy with a dog, horse‑therapy, forest walks, storytelling, creative workshops and parental support.

In Ascoli Piceno, the "Parchiamo 2026" initiative started on 24 June, organized by La Casa di Asterione APS with the association Oltre and municipal social‑services support. Around 20 children and teenagers with disabilities, accompanied by families or educators, take part in free weekly artistic and craft workshops in city parks, such as natural‑colour making, kite construction, puppet making, wool activities and clay modelling. The series runs through 16 September and includes a special "Fuochi di Cina" workshop for the local Festa di Sant’Emidio on 5 August.
