Italian towns Minturno and Monza approve new urban planning initiatives

The Minturno municipal council approved, unanimously, a Communal Acoustic Zoning Plan aimed at preventing and mitigating noise pollution while balancing development with health, schooling, tourism and environmental goals. Councilor for Land Management Giuseppe Tomao highlighted the plan's compliance with regional, national and EU directives, and Mayor Gerardo Stefanelli stressed the upcoming public comment period of 30 days for residents and 60 days for neighboring municipalities.

In Monza, the city council adopted an implementation plan for a former green plot on Viale Europa, authorising three residential buildings up to 19.7 metres high and a new public garden with pedestrian paths and a food kiosk. The project, designed by architects Dario Morini and Duccio Maria Battistoni for developer Gabry 2000–Immobiliare Margi, will also benefit from a future M5 metro stop nearby. Citizens can submit observations until 5 August.
