Italian towns of Campomarino and Sinnai thank firefighters after destructive wildfires

In Campomarino, Molise, a large fire spread through the Lauretta and Arcora districts and onto State Road 16, prompting extensive rescue operations. Mayor Vincenzo Norante expressed deep gratitude to the fire brigade, regional civil protection, volunteers, local police and the Aloha Park Hotel for their coordinated response that protected residents, homes, businesses and the environment.

In Sinnai, Sardinia, a blaze consumed about ten hectares of forest on the hill leading to San Gregorio. Mayor Barbara Pusceddu thanked the fire service, the Campuomu forest station, local police, municipal technicians, volunteer associations and civil protection for extinguishing the flames and assisting evacuations. She highlighted communication difficulties in the remote area and called for improved prevention and telecom infrastructure.

Both municipalities highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the emergency services involved.
