Italian towns of Gualdo and Vallefoglia host vibrant community festivals

In Gualdo, the two‑year‑old "Oltre il Tempo" project concluded with a series of events that combined theatre, dance and intergenerational workshops. Mayor Giovanni Zavaglini and Union Montana president Giampiero Feliciotti praised the initiative for revitalising the community and fostering links between children, adults and seniors. The final performance on 1 August featured the Affinity Dance association and participants who showcased choreography developed throughout the year.

Meanwhile, Vallefoglia’s fourth Festival of Dialect Comedy attracted more than 1,400 spectators for its latest evening. Mayor Palmiro Ucchielli, culture assessor Mirco Calzolari and councilor Debora Denti attended the show by the company “del Gall”, which was lauded as the region’s largest festival in terms of organization, set design and audience turnout. Actor Paolo Cioppi highlighted the event’s popularity and the municipal gratitude extended to volunteers and local police.

Both festivals illustrate a growing emphasis on cultural programming that strengthens local identity and community cohesion in Italy’s smaller towns.
