Visso installs 15‑camera surveillance network to boost public safety

The municipality of Visso has completed a new video‑surveillance system consisting of fifteen cameras strategically placed in the historic centre and surrounding frazioni. The network includes a 360‑degree camera in Piazza Maria Cappa and OCR technology that reads vehicle licence plates, enabling faster police investigations. The project was fully funded by the comune with an investment of over €48,000. Mayor Rosella Sensi said the system fulfills a key commitment to the community, providing a deterrent against theft and “sciacallaggio” and supporting law‑enforcement operations. The upgraded monitoring will allow authorities to track vehicle movements more effectively and respond more quickly to suspicious activity.
