Italian towns Pontedassio and Pegognaga host summer activity programs for children

In Pontedassio, the Valle Impero summer centre opened on 29 June and ran for five weeks, offering separate programmes for preschool (18 children) and primary school (27 children). The preschool sessions were run by Coop Ancora staff, while the primary programme was organised by the Patanque association with support from local sports clubs and the Red Cross. Activities included guided outings to the Parco Alpi Liguri and trips to nearby municipalities such as Rezzo and Montegrosso.

In Pegognaga, the municipality partnered with the local parish, the school office, the Minerva cooperative and the Socialis company to run summer centres that combined education, solidarity and nature. Children participated in inter‑generational meetings, visits to the local cultural centre, environmental projects with Vol‑Ambiente, pool days and a field trip to the Prehistoric Park in Rivolta d’Adda. Both towns highlighted the collaborative model as a way to support families and provide social and educational opportunities during the summer holidays.
