Italian towns revitalize green spaces in Milano Marittima and Pignola

In Milano Marittima, the Anello del Pino park is being rebuilt after the August 2025 tornado that felled many trees. The €90,000 project covers more than 20,000 m², with over 50 new pines, oaks, ash and holm oaks planted, drip‑irrigation systems, accessible natural‑material pathways, new playgrounds and wooden furniture. The work, scheduled for completion by summer, aims to restore shade, improve climate comfort and enhance the historic park’s role for residents and tourists.

In Pignola, Mayor Antonio De Luca is urging the completion of the Lago Pantano development. The plan includes an integrated network of natural trails, sports facilities, sustainable tourism and environmental education, following years of stalled negotiations over the former WWF reserve. The municipality has finished its responsibilities, but the cycle path and other works await further approvals from the Region of Basilicata and the neighboring Potenza municipality. The mayor highlighted pending documentation issues and delays in the Oasi centre construction, calling for swift resolution so the area can serve the community.
