Italian towns schedule late‑June mosquito and pest control operations

Municipal authorities in several Italian locations have announced mosquito‑ and pest‑control disinfestation programmes for the end of June and early July 2026.

The city of Gravina will carry out an intensified intervention on 29 June, focusing on parks that residents have reported as heavily infested. Residents are advised to keep doors, windows and shutters closed and protect pets, food and clothing from exposure to the insecticidal products.

A coordinated adulticidal plan approved by another municipality will see treatments on the nights of 30 June and 1 July, carried out by the specialist firm Folgore. The operation will cover the whole urban centre and outlying fractions, with citizens asked to close openings, keep animals indoors and remove standing water that can serve as breeding sites.

On the islands of La Maddalena, two nights of disinfestation are scheduled for 29–30 June. The first night will use a thermonebulous method inside sewer conduits, while the second night will employ an atomiser on streets and squares. The local council urges people to vacate treated areas, keep animals away from chemicals and keep windows shut for at least an hour after the operations.

All programmes stress public cooperation to maximise effectiveness and protect public health.
