Italian towns showcase contemporary art exhibitions in August 2026

The Pinacoteca Comunale in Castiglion Fiorentino opened the "inPERFETTO" exhibition on 1 August 2026, featuring the works of Giuliano Caporali and Giuliano Censini. Curated by archaeologist and art critic Furio Durando, the show juxtaposes contemporary pieces with historic Tuscan masterpieces such as the San Francesco di Margarito and the Maestà of Taddeo Gaddi, and will remain on view until 27 September 2026.

From 7 to 24 August 2026, the small town of Castelbottaccio hosted the second edition of "Arte in Molise". Curated by Gabriella Tirincanti, the exhibition presents 21 artists, including Walter Necci and Enrica Capone, across two venues – the Bottega in Piazza della Vittoria and the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. The opening ceremony featured mayor Mario Disertore and local cultural figures. Both events highlight the vibrant contemporary art scene in Italy’s regional communities.
