Italian towns showcase women's achievements and African‑Italian integration

In Anzio, a ceremony titled “Omaggio a Edda Billi – Serata dedicata ai mondi femminili” honoured women active in culture, fashion, rights and social engagement. The event featured a runway by designer Grazia Urbano, awards presented by ACSI and TV host Anthony Peth, and speeches from journalists and activists such as Antonella Giordano.

In Bergamo, entrepreneur Fatima Ndao, originally from Senegal, runs the Effeeffe Group Store on via Silvio Spaventa. The shop displays products from Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States, creating a “metropolitan bridge” where diverse cultures meet. Ndao describes the store as a place of everyday integration, linking Italian and African communities.

Both events highlight local initiatives that promote cultural exchange and the visibility of women’s contributions in Italian society.
