Italian towns shut down bakery and supermarket for health violations

In Paternò, local police carried out inspections and uncovered an unauthorized bakery operating without the required permits. The establishment was ordered to close and roughly 20 kg of bread were seized. Authorities indicated that administrative fines could reach up to €6,000 for the infractions.

In Seregno, a grocery store in the Brianza district was closed after a joint inspection by the local police and the regional health service (ATS). Inspectors identified serious hygiene shortcomings, missing Italian‑language product labels, and absent price displays. The premises were sealed and the owners face potential fines of up to €5,000.
