Italian towns shut main squares for renovation work, traffic rerouted

From 15 June until the end of July, Piazza Aldo Moro will be closed to vehicles while extensive infrastructure works are carried out. Utility upgrades by A2A and Enel, a school roof reconstruction and a major urban renewal project will reshape the square, allowing only pedestrian passage. Temporary traffic changes include a one‑way reversal on Via Porzi and Via Dante, and the continued closure of Via Ginnasio for pavement replacement.

In the city of Ascoli, work on Piazza Arringo is moving to a new phase that expands the construction area to the north façade of Palazzo Arengo. Access to the historic municipal building is now limited to the doorway on Via Tornasacco, which also serves the civic museum, theatre box office and other municipal offices. Pedestrians are asked to follow the altered routes and signage while the renovation progresses.

Both projects are part of broader municipal efforts to improve public spaces, update underground utilities and enhance safety in city centres.
