Italian towns unveil new community facilities in Lozio and Castellazzo Bormida

The former elementary school in Villa di Lozio was converted into a multifunctional community hub, the Polo Polifunzionale. The €410,000 renovation—funded by the region and the municipality—now includes a council hall, library, health office, pharmacy, gym with a climbing wall, co-working space with high‑speed fiber, and rooms for local associations and the Alpini group. The opening was part of the Falìa 25|26 artistic residency, which brings artists from abroad to the mountain town.

In Castellazzo Bormida, the Villa Fontanesidi Day‑Care Center received a new multisensory room donated by wedding couple Greta Ferraris and Lorenzo Vignoni. The space offers controlled light, sound, colour, scent and tactile stimuli to promote relaxation, emotional regulation and therapeutic benefits for people with disabilities. The mayor highlighted the project as a concrete improvement to quality of life for vulnerable residents.
