In Genoa, a bus driver for the municipal transport agency was assaulted by an intoxicated Danish passenger who had fallen asleep on the vehicle. The driver was hospitalized, and transport unions demanded better protection and monitoring for frontline staff, citing a pattern of verbal and physical attacks on public‑transport employees.

Both incidents have led transport unions to urge local authorities to enforce existing regulations, improve signage and safety measures, and ensure adequate staffing for inspections and worker protection.
