The 17th Italian Cultural Institute Archaeology Symposium will take place in Denizli, Turkey, on October 13-14. Organized in collaboration with Pamukkale University and under the auspices of the Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul and the Italian Embassy in Ankara, the event focuses on the ongoing archaeological cooperation between Italy and Turkey.

The symposium, titled ‘Discoveries, methods and cooperation: Italian archaeology delegations in Turkey between the continuity of research and innovation’, will feature presentations from various Italian teams working alongside Turkish institutions. Discussions will cover excavation, research, and discovery processes across several significant sites, including Arslantepe, Hierapolis, Karkamış, Kültepe, Uşaklı Höyük, Porsuk-Zeyve Höyük, Hattuşa, Tripolis, and the Tokalı Church.

Academic sessions will be divided into two main parts: the first covering prehistoric and protohistoric periods, and the second focusing on classical and Byzantine eras. The event will begin with a public concert at the Hierapolis Ancient Theatre on the evening of October 13, followed by academic sessions at Pamukkale University on October 14.
