Italian TV journalists depart Mediaset for new projects

Veteran Rai journalist Monica Leofreddi announced she is moving to Mediaset to work alongside presenter Milo Infante. She will appear as an opinionist on the morning show Ore 11 and may join the evening program Verità Nascoste later in the year. Leofreddi said Infante’s support was decisive for her decision after nearly four decades at Rai.

Former Canale 5 host Myrta Merlino also confirmed her exit from Mediaset, signing a deal with San Marino RTV to launch a new television program on channel 550 in October. The move follows the closure of the Pomeriggio 5 format, which left Merlino without a slot at Mediaset. Both journalists cited fresh opportunities and greater visibility as reasons for their transitions.
