Italian TV networks unveil new drama and thriller series for 2026

Mediaset is preparing a new season of fiction that includes a biopic drama titled “Il mio nome è Carlo,” depicting the life of the recently canonised Milanese teenager Carlo Acutis. The series, starring Samuele Carrino as Acutis and directed by Giacomo Campiotti, is scheduled to air in October to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Acutis’s death. The slate also features Can Yaman in the secret‑agent adventure “Il Labirinto delle Farfalle” and several other projects that explore social themes.

Meanwhile, Disney+ and Sky Investigation are adding new thriller content. The series “Furious,” debuting on July 27, follows former NYPD homicide detective Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) as she pursues a serial killer named Catherine in an eight‑episode psychological showdown. A companion series, “Paris Has Fallen,” set in France, follows special‑forces agent Vincent Taleb (Tewfik Jallab) and MI6 operative Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya) as they investigate a terrorist attack at a Parisian gala. The classic procedural “Law & Order” also returns with its 25th season on Italian platforms.
