Temptation Island dominates Italian TV with 32% share as former couples' lives unfold

The 2026 edition of the reality show Temptation Island aired on Canale 5, securing a record 32.3 % audience share, equivalent to about 4.0 million viewers. This performance far outpaced the competing Rai 1 special about Lino Banfi, which attracted 1.55 million viewers (10.7 % share), and positioned Temptation Island as the leading program of the evening on 8 July 2026.

Alongside the ratings success, the series continued to generate public interest in the personal lives of participants from the 2025 season. Former couple Valentina Riccio and Antonio Panico announced they are expecting their first child after reconciling earlier in the year. Denise Farina and Marco Raffaelli remain separated, with no further contact reported. Maria Concetta Schembri and Angelo Scarpata have also split permanently. In contrast, Sonia Mattalia and Alessio Loparco stayed together, having reconciled after a brief breakup during the show, though they have not yet announced an engagement.

The strong viewership underscores Temptation Island’s continued relevance in Italy’s television landscape, drawing a significant portion of the primetime audience and maintaining a high level of social media discussion.
