Italian universities mark academic milestones in Forlì and Rome

Italian universities have marked significant milestones with the completion of campus infrastructure in Forlì and the inauguration of the academic year at Sapienza University in Rome.

In Forlì, the university campus at viale Corridoni has been completed following the opening of the Sauli and Saffi pavilions. These historic buildings, dating back to 1907-1912, were part of a 22-year urban regeneration project that began in 2004 when hospital activities moved to Vecchiazzano. The recent renovation of the Sauli and Saffi wings was a 9.8 million euro project funded by ministerial funds, the Municipality of Forlì, and Fondazione Cassa.

In Rome, Sapienza University inaugurated its 723rd academic year. The ceremony included a commemoration of the students and faculty killed during the Fosse Ardeatine massacre in 1944. Rector Antonella Polimeni presented new archival documentation regarding the 18 victims from the university and unveiled a reproduction of a commemorative sculpture to honor the memory of those lost during the Nazi-fascist massacre.
