Italian waste services roll out new cleanliness campaigns and contracts
Alia Multiutility, the public‑services company for central Italy, launched a multichannel communication campaign in Florence aimed at involving citizens in keeping public spaces clean and increasing recycling. The campaign, built after stakeholder listening and behavioural‑economics testing, will focus first on urban decor and later on correct waste separation, with the slogan “Keeping the city clean is a team sport.”
In Alghero, Sardinia, the municipal council approved a new urban‑hygiene contract that will improve street cleaning, increase the frequency of waste collection for both households and businesses, and introduce new equipment and digital tools. The plan keeps household waste fees unchanged while enhancing services for non‑domestic users, including twice‑daily organic waste pickups in the historic centre.
