Italian waterway maintenance and bank consolidation projects completed
Various infrastructure and maintenance projects targeting waterways and canal banks have been completed in different Italian regions.
In Ceva, authorities have finished cleaning and maintaining a 700-meter stretch of the Cevetta stream between Via Andrea Doria and the Cameroni area. The €20,000 project involved removing vegetation and regularizing the riverbed to improve water flow and territorial safety, particularly during intense weather events. This follows previous maintenance on the Bovina stream and planned works on the Tanaro.
In the Veneto region, a €1.2 million project to consolidate the north-west banks of the Canale Fossetta has concluded. Spanning approximately one kilometer across Quarto d’Altino, Meolo, and Musile di Piave, the works addressed landslide areas using support poles, stone, and earth. Additionally, a 25-meter metal barrier was installed to prevent water infiltration. A separate €800,000 intervention on the south-east side of the canal was also completed, facilitating the eventual transfer of canal management to local reclamation consortia.
