Italy showcases diverse culinary and viticultural excellence

Italy is experiencing a surge in culinary and viticultural recognition through various regional events and prestigious guides. In Matera, the The Best Cellar 2026 international wine event concluded successfully, hosting over 100 international buyers and 100 excellence-driven wineries to strengthen global market ties.

In the wine sector, the Falstaff Bar Guide Italia 2027 named Verona’s Antica Bottega del Vino as the Wine Bar of the Year, awarding it a perfect 100-point score. Additionally, the 2027 edition of “I migliori 100 Vini e Vignaioli d’Italia,” curated by James Suckling, highlights the evolving landscape of Italian producers and territories.

Culinary traditions are also being celebrated through specialized competitions. Milan is preparing for the fifth edition of the Panettone World Cup in November 2026, featuring pastry chefs from 19 countries. Meanwhile, the “Il Novello” competition in Montegridolfo continues to promote high-quality extra virgin olive oil in Emilia-Romagna, and Buccheri has hosted its “Best Culinary Destination” event to showcase local biodiversity and gastronomy.
