Italian wineries highlight regional heritage and traditional viticulture
In the Colli di Luni region, Cantine Lunae continues its multi-generational legacy focused on Vermentino. Led by the fourth generation, Diego and Debora Bosoni, the estate has expanded to approximately 80 hectares. The winery recently inaugurated a semi-underground facility in Castelnuovo Magra in 2023 to facilitate precise parcel management and experimentation with indigenous varieties and the Metodo Classico. The estate is also pursuing organic conversion and the restoration of Sarticola terraces.
In the Langhe region, Paolo Manzone operates a winery established in 1999 that emphasizes authentic, artisanal production. Centered around the Meriame cru in Serralunga, the estate manages 20 hectares of vineyards, including vines over 75 years old. The production focuses on varieties such as Barolo, Barbera, and Nebbiolo, utilizing manual harvesting and careful fermentation processes to balance traditional methods with modern consumer preferences.
