32-year-old woman arrested after high‑speed chase in Campofelice di Roccella, Sicily

Italian Carabinieri arrested a 32‑year‑old woman in Campofelice di Roccella after she fled a police patrol while violating a court‑issued restraining order. The order, imposed by the Tribunal of Termini Imerese, required her to keep at least 1,000 metres from the victim and mandated an electronic ankle bracelet for prior stalking offences.

During a routine territorial check, officers found the woman driving within the prohibited distance. When ordered to stop, she accelerated, leading to a pursuit through the municipality. She repeatedly drove the wrong way, performed dangerous overtakes and attempted to block the police vehicle. The chase ended when the Carabinieri stopped her car safely and placed her in custody. A judge later confirmed the custodial measure.

The woman had previously resisted officers when the restraining order was served, attempting to assault a soldier with a pen. The recent escape and dangerous driving resulted in additional charges of resistance to a public official and reckless driving, alongside the original violation of the restraining order.
