Italian women launch fundraising campaigns for expensive cancer treatment
Two Italian women, Angelica Pasculli and Jessica Scarpa, are seeking financial support to access a specialized drug, daraxonrasib, to combat metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Angelica Pasculli, a 40-year-old from Bitonto, is traveling to the United States to consult with doctors regarding the high-cost medication. Her primary goal is to extend her life to see her son grow. Local community support and fundraising efforts have been organized in her honor, including charity initiatives at local sporting events.
Jessica Scarpa, a 36-year-old mother of twins from Olginate, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund her treatment. After undergoing major surgery and chemotherapy, the cancer has progressed to her liver. The targeted drug she is seeking costs approximately 45,000 euros per month. Her campaign has already raised over 52,000 euros toward a 250,000 euro goal.
