Italian women's biathlon team enters new Olympic cycle

The Italian women's biathlon team is entering a new Olympic cycle with significant structural changes. During a training camp at Passo di Lavazè, athlete Hannah Auchentaller highlighted the team's focus on increased regularity and cohesion under a new coaching staff.

Key developments include the appointment of Norwegian Egil Gjelland to lead the women's group, supported by Edoardo Mezzaro. The team also welcomes the return of Lisa Vittozzi, who recently competed at the Loop One Festival in Munich. Auchentaller noted that Vittozzi's return provides a vital model for the younger athletes as the team adapts to a period without Dorothea Wierer.
