Italian women's Serie A clubs bolster squads with new signings

Bologna Women announced the acquisition of three players: midfielder Zhanna Ferrario, defender Federica Rizza and forward Alice Rossi, each signing contracts that run until June 2027 or 2028. Ferrario, a Russian international who helped Bologna earn promotion to Serie A Women in 2025, said she chose the club to relaunch her career after a long injury. Rizza, a former Inter youth product and Italian youth‑national team bronze medalist, highlighted Bologna’s ambition to reach Serie A.

Sassuolo Femminile confirmed the loan of 17‑year‑old midfielder Paola Fadda from Inter Milan until 30 June 2027. The promising midfielder, who has represented Italy at U‑17, U‑19 and U‑23 levels, expressed enthusiasm for the club’s growth project and the chance to prove herself in Serie A.
