Italian women's volleyball team trains in Cavalese ahead of Euro 2026

Head coach Julio Velasco handed two books to each of the 14 players of Italy's women's national volleyball team during the final day of their training camp in Cavalese. The selected titles – ranging from Joseph Roth’s “Giobbe” to Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” – were meant to inspire reflection and focus ahead of the European Championship 2026.

The week‑long camp combined intensive on‑court sessions with promotional activities in the Trentino region. After concluding the preparations, the squad will travel to Poland for a friendly quadrangular tournament in Koszalin from 11 to 13 August, a key step in their build‑up to the continental finals. Liberó Eleonora Fersino said, “We know our value, we know who we are, and we are working on the details to improve.”
