Italian youth hockey and basketball tournaments showcase top teams

The first weekend of the national youth inline hockey finals was held at the PalaMercuri in Civitavecchia, organized by CV Skating. In the under‑18 elite category, the Snipers Pizzeria Red Carpet secured a bronze medal after an overtime loss to Hc Milano (4‑3) and a 5‑4 victory over Asiago, with Ruggero Meconi named tournament MVP. The under‑14 team Marco Liberati Srl finished fifth after winning the consolation final 5‑2 against Hc Milano. In basketball, the Under‑14 squad Indipendente Appiano Gentile earned fifth place at the 23rd International "Città di Trento" tournament. Coached by Leonardo Magatti, the team opened with a 55‑26 win over Pallacanestro Villazzano, added a 38‑29 victory against Bellaria, then fell 50‑29 to Pall. Spinea. They clinched the 5‑6 place match by defeating P. San Giorgio di Piano 73‑60. The tournament ran over the weekend of 30 May‑1 June and featured teams from across Italy.
