Italian youths with Down syndrome graduate and win European medals

Mattia Beltrame, a resident of Zimella in the province of Verona, graduated from the Liceo "Giovanni Cotta" in Legnago with a diploma in Human Sciences. He said, "La sindrome di Down non mi ha mai fermato," and intends to study philosophy at the University of Padua, thanking his family, teachers and a mindfulness mentor for their support.

Mattia Tononi, also from Italy, has earned 13 medals at the European Championships for athletes with Down syndrome. He dedicates the medals to his late father, emphasizing that love and encouragement helped him overcome obstacles and pursue his sport.

Both stories highlight the accomplishments of young Italians with Down syndrome who are achieving academic and athletic milestones with the support of their families and communities.
