Italian‑Argentine cultural events showcase shared heritage in Abruzzo and Basilicata

From 4 July to 13 September 2026 the Palazzo Acquaviva in Atri will host the exhibition “Rodolfo Zanni – Note dall’oblio”. The show is part of the XXIII edition of the international programme Stills of Peace and Everyday Life, whose 2026 theme “Italy and Argentina – Global Identity” explores the historic cultural links forged by migration and music between the two countries. It highlights the life of Argentine‑born composer Rodolfo Zanni, whose parents came from Atri and Genoa, and aims to revive a once‑forgotten figure.

On 21 July 2026 a separate gathering in Potenza will bring together fourteen Italo‑Argentine families and their relatives for a celebration of migration heritage in Basilicata. Organized by Italia Nostra and the Centre for International Studies of Lucania, the event includes speeches by local mayors, a presentation of a digital collection on Lucanian emigrants, poetry readings, musical interludes and a Lucanian‑cooking workshop. Both activities underline the enduring dialogue between Italy and Argentina through art, memory and community.
