Italo and Ryanair expand travel options in Italy
Travel connectivity in Italy is expanding through new promotional rail fares and airline route expansions. The private high-speed rail operator Italo has introduced the ‘eXtra Magic’ tariff, which offers discounts of up to 70% compared to its standard Flex fares. This promotional rate is available for both Smart (economy) and Prima Business (executive) classes on routes connecting major cities such as Rome, Venice, Milan, Florence, and Naples. The discounted fares are subject to availability and are non-refundable and non-modifiable.
In the aviation sector, Ryanair has announced 18 new international routes involving Italian airports for the 2026/2027 season. These new connections will depart from Milan, Catania, and Palermo, linking Italy to destinations including Edinburgh, Liverpool, Prague, Dublin, Valencia, Porto, and Funchal, among others. The expansion aims to provide more low-cost travel options across Europe for both tourists and residents.
