Italo Group expands intermodal transport network in Italy

The Italo Group is expanding its intermodal transport network through new connections between high-speed trains and Itabus services. In preparation for the winter season, new routes have been established to popular ski destinations including Cortina d’Ampezzo, Courmayeur, and Aosta. Travelers can use a single purchase for both train and bus connections, with services to Cortina d’Ampezzo operating via Mestre, and services to Aosta and Courmayeur connecting through Torino Porta Susa.

Additionally, the company has launched a service connecting Parma to the high-speed rail network. This includes 12 daily services connecting the Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana station to major cities such as Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, and Salerno.

In a separate development, Innsbruck is launching its Advent season with a new rail collaboration. An agreement between Innsbruck Tourismus and German and Austrian railways will allow travelers using Railjet services from Italy—specifically via the Brenner pass from Venice and Bologna—to access local public transport and the Innsbruck Card. This initiative aims to integrate existing rail services with local mobility to reduce automobile use and pollution during the holiday season.
