Italy addresses evolving national security and hybrid threats
The Parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic (COPASIR) has released its annual report, focusing on the evolution of Italy's national security in the face of modern, non-conventional threats. The report highlights a shift from traditional physical border defense to addressing pervasive, hybrid threats that target the country's social, economic, and digital fabric.
Complementing this, the Department of Information for Security (DIS), alongside the AISE and AISI agencies, has produced a report titled ‘Governing Change’. This intelligence analysis maps tactical and strategic threats within a hyper-technological landscape. Key areas of concern for the Italian strategic agenda include protecting technological sovereignty, ensuring information stability, maintaining energy autonomy, and safeguarding cognitive sovereignty and critical infrastructure.
