Italy adds 82 trees to national monumental registry
The Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (MASAF) has officially updated the national registry of monumental trees, adding 82 new specimens of significant biological, historical, and landscape value.
A notable addition is the ancient Yew of the Foresta Umbra in the Gargano National Park. Estimated to be approximately 1,000 years old with a circumference exceeding three meters, the tree is considered a symbol of immortality due to its regenerative capabilities.
