Italy implements major PNRR-funded infrastructure and education projects

Italy is implementing extensive infrastructure and social projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and other national resources. In the education sector, Minister Giuseppe Valditara reported that approximately 23 billion euros are being invested, including 13 billion for school buildings, resulting in over 12,000 authorized interventions. These projects range from fire safety upgrades at the Angelo Roncalli school in Pistoia to the construction of a new multi-level school complex in San Ginesio.

Urban regeneration efforts are also prominent. In Rimini, 154,000 euros are allocated for security and comfort improvements in several kindergartens. In Terni, the #giocarerigenera project is transforming urban peripheries through the creation of social playgrounds. Additionally, a 400 million euro plan aims to make parts of the Tiber River swimmable in Rome by 2032, with Acea coordinating technical works.

Infrastructure maintenance continues with a 41.5 million euro project by Anas to reconstruct the Tevere viaduct in Orte using controlled explosives. In the social sector, Umbria has allocated 850,000 euros to support mental health budgets, while Borgosatollo has invested 1.2 million euros in educational rights and family services.
