Italy aging perception study: 26% of 25-34 year olds begin thinking about aging
A new study titled ‘Human After All’, conducted by Hearts United in collaboration with Doxa, reveals that Italians begin to contemplate aging much earlier than previously expected. The research, based on a sample of 2,000 Italians, indicates that 26% of respondents identify the age range of 25 to 34 as the period when they first began thinking about aging.
Furthermore, 13% of the population reports this awareness occurring before age 25, and 51% of all Italians state they think about aging at least occasionally. The study suggests that this trend is driven less by biological changes and more by shifting social expectations. Factors such as non-linear career paths, delayed economic autonomy, and unpredictable family structures contribute to a sense of being ‘behind’ traditional life milestones, a pressure often exacerbated by social media models of success.
