Italy allocates 11.4 million euros to support transport sector fuel costs

The Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced an additional 11.4 million euros to support companies facing rising fuel costs. This funding, intended for the year 2026, was introduced via a government amendment to the July 27 decree-law regarding high fuel prices, following a request from Minister Matteo Salvini to strengthen economic support for the sector.

The aid will be provided in the form of a tax credit for companies involved in freight transport and passenger transport using Euro V and Euro VI class buses. The measure aims to mitigate the impact of energy costs on national logistics and mobility services.

Eligible businesses will be able to apply through a dedicated platform once the decree-law is converted, a process expected to be completed by the end of September.
