Italy and Argentina sign education and training cooperation agreement

Italy and Argentina have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in the sectors of education and training. The agreement, signed in Buenos Aires by Italian Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara and Argentine Minister of Human Capital Sandra Pettovello, implements priorities established in the 2025-2030 Joint Action Plan between the two nations.

A key focus of the agreement is the promotion of technical and professional training to better align student skills with labor market demands. This includes the potential introduction of the Italian “4+2” technological-professional model and ITS Academy systems in Argentina. The cooperation will also address strategic areas such as combating school dropout rates, utilizing artificial intelligence in education, digital citizenship, and teacher training in socio-relational skills.

During the visit, which was part of a business mission promoted by Confindustria, Minister Valditara also met with Argentine President Javier Milei. Additionally, a protocol was signed with Confindustria to promote entrepreneurial culture starting from lower secondary schools, aiming to bridge the gap between educational paths and the evolving needs of the productive system.
