Italy and France launch Alpine heritage and tourism initiatives

New initiatives are underway to promote transborder tourism and cultural heritage between Italy and France. The Cognitio Fort project has launched its second training cycle, running from September 16 to October 14. This program involves Italian and French experts, organizations, and operators in a series of webinars, workshops, and field visits designed to enhance the accessibility and sustainability of Alpine fortifications. The curriculum includes historical-geographical training, digital transition strategies led by the Politecnico di Torino, and 3D digitalization techniques.

Simultaneously, the RivierALP walking path is preparing for its official launch. This new transborder itinerary connects the Alps to the Mediterranean, traversing Italian and French territories, including mountains, valleys, and coastal areas. Efforts are currently focused on installing wayfinding signage and distributing official maps and guidebooks to support hikers and slow-tourism enthusiasts traveling through these shared landscapes.
