Italy Announces 'Note di Luce' Sacred Music Concert and Puccini's 'Suor Angelica' Opera Performances
The 'Note di Luce' sacred‑music concert series will continue on 11 August 2026 at the Church of Sant’Andrea Apostolo in Marina di Cecina. The program features arias by Puccini, Mascagni and Verdi performed by sopranos Maria Bruno and Roberta Ceccotti, tenor Massimo Gentili and organist Stefania Casu on the restored 1869 Agati organ. The event is free to the public and is organized by the Comune di Cecina in partnership with Orfeo InScena and Unitre Cecina.
The Circolo della Lirica di Padova will present Giacomo Puccini’s one‑act opera *Suor Angelica* at three venues in September 2026: an ante‑prima on 10 September at the Teatro Filarmonico in Piove di Sacco, performances on 12‑13 September at the Sala dei Giganti in Padova, and a concert‑style staging on 16 September in the Sale Apollinee of the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice. The production is directed by Luca Baracchini, conducted by Nicola Simoni, and features a cast of young international singers selected through the Opera Studio Fondazione Ferrari Salimbeni workshop.
