Italy announces nursing degree admissions and new specializations
The Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) has released decrees establishing the number of available places and admission procedures for nursing degree programs for the 2026/2027 academic year. Admission tests for three-year degrees are scheduled for September 16, 2026, for Italian-language tracks and September 17, 2026, for English-language tracks. The exams will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions covering reading comprehension, logical reasoning, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
For master's degrees, admission tests will take place on October 5 and 7, 2026. A significant reform starting in October 2026 will introduce three new clinical specialization tracks alongside existing master's programs, focusing on areas such as primary care and family and community nursing.
At the local level, the University of Eastern Piedmont has opened enrollment for health profession courses, offering 724 total spots, an increase of 14 compared to 2025. In Novara, nursing spots have increased to 132, including five reserved for non-EU students. Other available programs include dental hygiene, physiotherapy, biomedical laboratory techniques, and medical radiology imaging.
